SUGAR FREE CINNAMON DONUTS

I have been loving using coconut flour lately from making pancakes to banana breads. Coconut flour is great for those who need to maintain a gluten free diet but also has many other benefits. It is rich is protein, fibre and healthy fats. Coconut flour is also a great source of manganese which helps with bone health, nervous system function and helps to maintain optimal blood sugar levels. So why not use it!

These donuts use coconut flour and are a great snack to pack with your lunch or perfect for the mid morning or afternoon cuppa. Plus I feel like donuts are everywhere lately and at least these are a bit of a healthy alternative if you don’t feel like really indulging and saving a few cals.

Coconut flour

Eggs

Coconut oil

Maple Syrup

Chia seeds

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Baking powder

Baking soda

Ingredients
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1.5 cup water
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 180C

  2. Place all five dry ingredients into bowl and whisk together.
  3. Next whisk together maple syrup, coconut oil, and egg until well combined. Add in dry ingredients, stir until combined.
  4. Add warm water to the batter and stir until smooth and combined.
  5. Spray donut pan and scoop your donut batter into each mini donut ring.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes
  7. Drizzle with chocolate over each donut and enjoy!
