Acai Bowls are a healthy and delicious way to begin your day and even though they have become the breakfast and brunch staple for many fitness enthusiasts, you can enjoy them anytime you want a nutritious, superfood hit.
Acai is a berry grown in Central and South America, Brazil and Peru. It is a great source of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that have health benefiting and disease preventing properties. So not only are these bowls full of goodness and fun to dress up but they are super quick and easy to whip up.
One of the great things about acai bowls are the endless topping options. Many recipes are adaptable and this one is no different. Once you have made your base, be creative and load it up with all your favourite toppings.
2 tablespoons of Acai Powder
1 cup of mixed frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
1 cup of coconut water
1/2 cup of baby spinach leaves
1 teaspoon of agave nectar
1 cup of ice cubes
1/2 banana sliced
1 handful of sliced strawberries
1 handful of chia seeds
1 handful of coconut flakes
1 handful of pumpkin seeds
1.) Blend the acai powder, frozen berries, coconut water, spinach leaves and agave nectar together.
2.) Add ice cubes and blend to so mixture is a nice and thick consistency.
3.) Pour mixture into a bowl and add your favourite toppings.
